Starting off, yes I grew up in NJ, the Garden State. Believe it or not, there are a lot of green areas besides toxic waste dumps. There is some beautiful country in NJ!! Ya just need to fight through some traffic sometimes to see it…
The one thing that really stands out from my youth, besides great family and friends, was my love of music. I started playing guitar when I was ten, and great songs always meant a lot to me. As I grew older and attended Rutgers University, and tried various courses of study, I gravitated back to the one thing I always loved – music!! That is where my career in radio started, at good ole WRSU in New Brunswick, NJ! And it was just a cool thing from the start…getting to not only listen to music, but getting to share it with others. My radio journey has taken me through Northwest NJ, to New Hampshire, and finally to Portland, Maine in 2007.
And why country music you ask? It is simple…like the music I grew up listening to it still means something to the people making it and the people listening to it. That’s what separates country from any other popular music out there today, and that’s why I love it!
